Troop 166 – Bexley, Ohio

For those  taking part in our service project, the Bexley Community Campout, overnight this Friday night, please be aware of these points:

•     Scouts in Class “A” uniform please (shirt, pants, belt and socks)
•     We will be fed dinner and breakfast so do not bring any food
•     Bring a water bottle
•     We will get underway at 4:30PM. Please plan to arrive then or as soon as your can thereafter. I understand that some folks are arriving late or leaving early. Please confirm with adult leaders as you arrive and depart
•     You will need a sleeping bag and pad
•     Please bring a flashlight with good batteries
•     Bring a tent if you have one available, we will sort out tenting arrangements once we arrive.
•     Be aware of the weather and dress appropriately. We will be outside all evening
•     We should be done on Saturday morning between 10 and 11 AM.
•     No hand-held electronics or phones. Adults will have phones for emergencies.

Troop 166 has been asked to sell pop at the Bexley Labor Day Event.  The event runs from 3 to 7 pm on Sunday, September 6 and is held at Jeffrey Mansion. The rain date is Monday, September 7. We need boys to sell and parents to supervise. Scouts can choose to earn money for their Scout Account or to earn service hours. City of Bexley Event Information

On the weekend after Labor Day, is the fourth Annual Community Campout in the meadow behind Jeffrey Mansion. It is one of the Recreation Department’s most popular events.  Scouts and Adults help families set up their tents and provide directions and assistance. We supervise the evening campfires and assist in serving meals. Everyone sleeps in tents overnight and we help cleanup up in the morning. Marshalling

Parade

Please arrive at Maryland Elementary by 9 AM. We meet under the tree near the corner of Maryland and Remington. Please wear this year’s Troop Tee Shirt (or the Philmont Crew version) is you have one.. Please wear sunscreen (we’ll be optimistic about the weather. If it rains, at least it will be warm rain.)  Come prepared to walk for about 2 miles, handing out flags to the crowd. Scouts finish between 11 and noon at Bexley High School. Cookout

Please arrive in time for your shift (As my boss used to say, “5 minutes early is on-time.”). Please wear this year’s Troop tee shirt (or the Philmont Crew version) is you have one. Soda Pop
