Seabase – Out Island Adventure
Big Munson Island – FL Keys
SNORKELING
None of us in our crew had done much snorkeling (ok, except for 1 Scout), so it was a new and awesome experience.
We did three snorkeling trips.
On the day we arrived on the island, we canoed out to Munson Rocks for snorkeling. The reef is small, but the variety of fish was amazing. It was empty except for Scouts, so there was plenty to see.
The next day, we did a night dive under a full moon on Munson Rocks. Not as many fish out, but different types. No pictures, though.
Finally, we took the Scoutmaster out to Looe Key, a protected reserve further south from the island. That day was sunny and clear, and the reef, which is the 3rd most dived reef in the world, was just beautiful!
