One cool part of the Out Island Adventure is the opportunity to kayak in and around the mangroves. These trees are able to root in the shallow seawater, where they form the basis for sand deposition and eventual island formation. Right now, part of Big Munson is only mangroves. If you are careful, you can make your way through the tangle of trees from one side of the island to the other, where you can swim in the channel for Little Palm island. Just don’t dock there (unless you have $1000 handy!).
