Scout Account Policy

BEXLEY TROOP 166 SCOUT ACCOUNT POLICY

Adopted Date, 2001

At various times throughout the year Scouts have the opportunity to raise money for Bexley Troop 166 through several activities such as the Simon Kenton Pop Corn Sale, July 4th Pop Sale, Bexley Fall Festival,  Summer Fun Fest, etc. Some of the money earned is put into the participants Scout Account.

The Scout Account may use for Troop 166 activities only. These include campouts, summer camp, and special activities such as National Jamboree, Philmont, etc.

The money is transferred directly from a Scout’s account into an account for the Troop 166 activity.  Money is never given directly to a Scout or his family. This account is however active for as log as the Scout is a member of Troop 166.

To draw from a Scout’s account, a parent or guardian must give a written & signed request to the Troop Treasurer stating the amount needed and naming the activity for which it will be used. The Treasurer must receive this request at least one week before the money is due for the activity. The Treasurer will then mail a confirmation letter to the parent or guardian once the transaction is complete.

Should a Scout leave Troop 166 for any reason including, quitting Scouting, moving, changing troops, being asked to leave the Troop, etc., the monies in their account will remain with Troop 166 for its use as determined by the Scout Master and Troop Committee.

Questions about Scout Accounts should be directed to the Troop Scribe or Troop Treasurer.
