As promised, we are going to start planning for our 2014 High Adventure Trip to Northern Tier.
The informational and organizational meeting will be on Sunday, March 3, at 12:30 at the church. Eligible Scouts and their parents are encouraged to come and learn about this awesome High Adventure trip. The trip is open to both Scouts and parents, and this is a terrific opportunity to see Scouting in action while enjoying the beautiful northern wilderness.
At the meeting, we will be discussing everything you might want to know about Northern Tier trips:
- cost
- gear
- time commitment
- crew composition
- passports
- etc.
and answering any questions.
I would like to collect deposits ($50 per person) at the meeting for those that are definitely interested. We will not finalize the crew, but the sooner we send our money the more likely it is that we will get the trip we want.
Important note: Northern Tier recently changed their eligibility requirements! The new requirement is that you must be 14 by the time we leave for the trip OR be 13 and have completed 8th grade. This is different than what I have previously said, but this is a BSA Nat’l policy, so I don’t have any say in it.
I will be mentioning this at upcoming Troop meetings, but feel free to call or email me as well.
