On Friday, 2/22 we’ll gather at the Church at 6:00 and drive to Camp Falling Rock, just north of Newark (about 1 hour away).
We’ll stay overnight Friday in a cabin. During the day on Saturday, Scouts will work to build shelters out of improvised materials with he goal of staying in those shelters overnight. The cabin will be available to them if they change their mind at some point during the night.
More information about gear can be found here: http://troop166.org/2009/10/14/tips-for-winter-outings/ and here: http://troop166.org/2010/01/06/backpacker-magazine-article-on-cold-weather-camping/
On Sunday, we will cleanup and return at about noon.
The cost for the outing will be $20.
These six Scouts have committed to attending.
