For our October outing (Friday Oct. 15 – Sunday Oct. 17) we’ll be traveling to Camp Birch near Springfield and tent camping. We’ll meet at the Church on Friday (time to be determined) and travel to the camp. On Saturday we’ll be walking in the Clifton Gorge in search of the ever-elusive piece of pie at the Inn at Clifton George.
There will be time to work on requirements, so Scouts should be sure to bring their Scout Handbook.
We’ll be outdoors all weekend, so watch the weather. Spare, dry clothes are always good idea.
On Sunday, we’ll be return to the Church at about 12:30.
The cost of the outing will be $17. Participants may want to bring some extra money for a potential trip on Saturday evening to Young’s Ice Cream.
The Scout Handbook provides a wonderful list of what should be packed for a Scout outing.
As a reminder, we travel to and from outing in our Class “A” uniform.
