Seabase – Out Island Adventure
Big Munson Island – FL Keys
Day 3
Day 3: Travel Log
We got up early at the hotel…well, actually, that only sorta happened. There was a problem with the room phones, so that the wakeup call never came to the boys’ room. Most were able to drag themselves up, but it was tough, right Matt?
Anyway…
We got on the road, drove through Fort Lauderdale and Miami, and stopped at a grocery store to buy some spices before we got on the Route1 causeway for the Keys. By then, everyone was getting a little tired of driving in the car.
The weather continued to threaten, and we even got stuck at a drawbridge in Key Largo
Key West
Despite the fact that the weather was threatening, the crew decided to push on to Key West, which turned out to be almost 5 hours of driving from our hotel in Deerfield Beach. We walked around a little, but we were all pretty hungry by then, since it was already 2 pm. We grabbed lunch at Guy Harvey’s, where we took a well-deserved seat and had a delicious lunch while admiring his cool artwork. By the time we walked back to the car, it started pouring, which meant it was time to get to Seabase and get started with the real adventure
Final stop: Brinton Environmental Center (Seabase)
